Kris Forbes MPT, ATC is the owner and head physical therapist of Buffalo Run Physical Therapy since its opening in 2005. Kris earned his Master’s of Physical Therapy degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Kris is also a Certified Athletic Trainer and has worked as an athletic trainer with Southern Methodist University and the Dallas Cowboys. His rehabilitation experience includes Joyner Sports Medicine and the renowned Carrell Orthopedic Clinic in Dallas, Texas. Kris has over 30 years of experience in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.
Karen Jurjans MPT earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Duke University where she played field hockey and ran track. She then received a Master’s of Physical Therapy degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. After practicing in sports medicine clinics in Manhattan and Washington, DC, Karen did a fellowship in Sports Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware where she met her husband John, who is also a PT. Karen, John, and their two children have lived in Lexington since 2011 and have taken to cheering on the UK teams, even though Karen bleeds a different shade of blue!

Mary Kirk serves as Office Administrator for Buffalo Run Physical Therapy. Mary and her husband Ken are natives of West Virginia and are the proud parents of two children. Mary brings with her 13 years experience from being in the Insurance industry. In her spare time, she volunteers with Paul Laurence Dunbar Marching Band.
